Jack Johnson Twitter Promo →
I’m late to the party reporting this one - but it’s worth taking a look at how Jack Johnson is trying to leverage twitter to “virally” spread the word about his new album. Check it out >

Traditional Museums Set Record Attendance... →
Arrested Motion, one of my preferred street-art/low-brow focused blogs wrote an interesting piece today about the two aforementioned types of art being significant draws to traditional museums. Perhaps another sign that street are is becoming even more accepted/mainstream/something. Read more via Traditional Museums Set Record Attendance Non-Traditionally

Notable, a self-described "easy way for teams to... →
Haven’t used Notable yet, but seems like an interesting option to manage a design project. As described on its website: “Quickly and easily give feedback on design, content, and code on any page of a website or application without leaving your browser…Notable helps your team collaborate through visual feedback on screenshots, via a chaos-free process so that everyone can...

Studying iPhone App Reviews is a Real Education in...
As I was browsing for an iPhone app the other day and reading the descriptions of each, something hit me: people who can effectively market an iPhone app really understand marketing. First, they don’t have the tools of fancy flash graphics to pull a user in. The only tool they have is plain text (i.e., being creative with copy). The other tool they’re provided with is the power of...

The trouble with engagement rings →
A friend of mine who’s a woman in her twenties for many years now has made it known that when she gets married, she doesn’t want a diamond ring. She’s not only bothered by the potential of purchasing a conflict diamond (or supporting an industry that has enabled their trade), but also of the financial commitment it creates. While her thinking and this Slate article might not...

Pre-Sales is Where It's At
I’ve been interested in buying a RAID or RAID-type backup storage device and have been researching Data Robotics’ Drobo and DroboPro. Since I’ve never setup a RAID or network accessible storage solution, I’ve been doing a lot of research. But no where was more helpful than Data Robotics itself. They have a dedicated line for pre-sales questions. Their help provided me with,...

Today’s announcement by Apple of the integration of video cameras into their iPod nano line I think, more so than being a boon to Apple (I’m not sold that it will be), will make a very big positive impact on the amateur, easy-to-use, point-and-shoot online video industry by making video cameras that can easily email and post online their content even more prolific.

Subscribe to Twitter Feeds in Google Reader
Following up on my “Twitter the Death of RSS?” post, Justin Pollak shared his tip of subscribing to specific user’s Twitter feeds directly in Google Reader (there’s an RSS feed for each Twitter user’s tweet-stream). To his point, RSS and RSS readers can be complementary to Twitter, and vice versa.

UNRWA defends not teaching Holocaust to... →
If a private Arab-run school were to leave the Holocaust out of its curriculum, while I would vehimently disagree with that tactic (how can you ignore such an important part of world history), there’s nothing that school owes to me or the Jewish people nor any guidelines they have to abide by when create a curriculum. But for a UN-funded and run organization — the UNRWA — to do...

Twitter is the Death of RSS?
I keep hearing that Twitter is the death of RSS but I just don’t get it. I use Google Reader (which increases my productivity exponentially because content is delivered to me versus my trying to seek it out), and just don’t see how Twitter can compete. If you know why Twitter is going to be the death of RSS, can you please share it with me? Okbaithanks.

id•this →
From an investor’s perspective, I love simple businesses with a business model (and some barriers to entry of course). But from a consumer’s perspective, I just love simple businesses. Check out id*this. It’s Shazaam for the real world. See a photo of something you want, then just upload it to id*this and the community will hopefully identify it. Of course, this requires an...

The Worst Pitch (Spam) Ever
Just today I received the most ridiculous pitch letter/message for SEO services (in other words, spam) in my inbox. It was submitted by a contact form. It reads: We would like to get your website on first page of Google. All of our processes use the most ethical “white hat” Search Engine Optimization techniques that will not get your website banned or penalized. Please reply and I...

A One-Way Ticket to Mars →
The NY Times asks a great question: if a trip to mars is prohibitive because of complexities involving the return trip, why not consider a one-way voyage? The pilgrims and many before them did.
