If a private Arab-run school were to leave the Holocaust out of its curriculum, while I would vehimently disagree with that tactic (how can you ignore such an important part of world history), there’s nothing that school owes to me or the Jewish people nor any guidelines they have to abide by when create a curriculum. But for a UN-funded and run organization — the UNRWA — to do just that?!?!?! I would think that the UN would have higher standards. And equally frustrating for me, I partially pay for the UNRWA because U.S. tax dollars in part fund it. Taking a step back though: the UN ignoring the Holocaust? I’m biased, by come on! Whether this is anti-semitism or not, this is one of the many examples of why I can understand that people call the UN anti-semetic and the UNRWA part of the Middle East problem, and not the solution.
